Getting started.

What is Lumio?

A calm, editorial RSS reader. You choose the publications, Lumio fetches their feeds, extracts full articles and lays them out like a magazine. No ads, no trackers, no engagement ranking.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Sign in with Apple, Google or email. Your tabs, sources, saved articles and read state follow you to any device.

How do I add a feed?

Open the drawer, tap Browse Sources, and paste a feed URL or a website address. Lumio finds the feed and validates it. RSS, Atom and JSON Feed all work.

Can I bring my subscriptions from another reader?

Yes. Settings → Import OPML. Export works the same way, so your list is never locked in.

02 Feeds

Feeds and sources.

Home, For You, Top Stories: what's the difference?

Home shows your tabs, one lane per source, newest first. For You picks articles across your interests. Top Stories gathers stories that several outlets are covering into one card with every take beneath it.

How often do feeds update?

Throughout the day. Pull down to refresh at any time; articles that changed since you last saw them carry an Updated badge.

Can I hide a source in one tab but keep it in another?

Yes. Long-press the lane and choose Mute. Mutes are per tab.

Why is a tab or source greyed out?

The free plan includes 3 tabs and 15 sources per tab. Anything beyond that is kept but locked until you upgrade or remove something.

A feed stopped updating.

Lumio retries failing feeds automatically and re-enables them when they recover. If a feed stays quiet for days, send us the URL with the form below.

03 Reading

Reading.

Why do some articles show only a summary?

Most feeds only carry an excerpt. Lumio fetches the full article when it can; a few publishers block that, and a few ask not to be extracted, which we honour. The Read on link always opens the original.

Can I change the typeface?

The reader uses Newsreader. Lumio Pro adds Lora, Source Serif, Literata and Manrope, chosen from the reader's text settings alongside size and theme.

Does search cover everything?

Search looks through the full text of articles in your sources, or across every source Lumio follows if you switch the scope to All sources.

04 AI

AI Key Points.

What are Key Points?

An optional three-to-five-bullet summary of an article, generated by OpenAI only when you tap Key Points and only after you've accepted the consent prompt. Every summary is labelled as AI-generated and has a Report button.

What gets sent to OpenAI?

The article's title, the publisher's name and the article text, up to about 6,000 characters. Nothing about you: no name, email, account or device identifier, and no reading history. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I turn it off?

Settings → AI Key Points. Once off, no further article text is sent.

Why isn't Key Points available on an article?

Either the publisher has opted out of AI use, the article has too little text to summarise, or you've reached the daily limit: 3 on the free plan, 100 on Pro.

05 Pro

Lumio Pro and billing.

What does Pro include?

Unlimited tabs, sources and saved articles, four premium typefaces, and 100 Key Points a day. Monthly or annual, priced in the app in your local currency.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Lumio can't issue them directly.

I resubscribed on a new phone and Pro isn't showing.

Settings → Lumio Pro → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID.

What happens if my subscription lapses?

Everything you set up stays. Tabs and sources beyond the free limits lock until you resubscribe, and articles saved while Pro are kept for 30 days.

06 Privacy

Account and privacy.

Do you track me or show ads?

No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs. What we store and why is in the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Account → Delete account. It removes your account and everything tied to it.

I'm a publisher and want my feed removed.

Use the form below with the feed URL and we'll remove it. Machine-readable opt-outs in robots.txt, TDMRep and noai are honoured automatically.

07 Support

Still stuck?

Tell us what happened and we'll reply by email, usually within a day or two. For a feed problem, include the feed URL; for billing, the email on your Apple ID helps.

Your message goes straight to the person who builds Lumio. We only use your email to reply.
